Therapeutic Massage is a treatment based massage. It includes initial tests and assessments of musculoskeletal structures before developing a treatment plan fitted to your needs. Specific techniques are used to treat muscular, skeletal and fascial imbalances. Stretching, strengthening, intrinsic and extrinsic techniques may be used in addition to massage in order to lengthen or stabilize musculature to provide joints with a full range of motion. Depending on the therapists additional training, they may be able to include techniques for TMJD/TMD, Rib mobilization, Lymphatic massage, etc.

Relaxation massage has the purpose of relaxation and stress reduction. To achieve this, Swedish massage techniques are performed to flush tissues and increase oxygen flow in the blood. The stimulation of the skin and nervous system reduce the emotional and physical stress you may be experiencing.

You can choose one or combine both therapeutic and relaxation massage. We want to customize your massage to your needs!

Basic Students are in their first year of study. Their focus is in relaxation and they will assess your present condition using Orthopedic and/ or Osteopathic protocols. This may require standing, seated or laying positions. Combining various subjects and skills they are currently learning supplies an important foundational experience for the year 1 students to build upon. There will always be an experienced therapist who will be on location as an observer to the student and available to provide guidance at any point.

Practicum Students are in their last stretch before receiving their diploma and becoming a professional! They are educated for both relaxation or therapeutic massage. If therapeutic massage is preferred, practicum students are able to assess your condition/dysfunction through tests and assessments of musculoskeletal structures before developing a treatment plan fitted to your needs. Specific techniques are used to treat muscular, skeletal and fascial imbalances. Stretching, strengthening, intrinsic and extrinsic techniques may be used in addition to massage in order to lengthen or stabilize musculature to provide joints with a full range of motion. An observer is always on site to provide advice or guidance if needed.
